Wreaths of wonder decorate Healthcare Homes for the festive season

Our homes and homecare services across the South of England have been decking the halls with wreaths of wonder this December.

And what a crafty and creative bunch they all are! All of our homes and our Manorcourt Homecare services, were invited to take part in a festive wreath-making competition with the chance to win prizes.

Sandown Park

Fifteen homes submitted entries in five categories – ranging from largest wreath to most-personalised to the home or branch.

The standard was so high that judging was very tough. After plenty of deliberation (and a few mince pies), we’re finally ready to crown the winners of this year’s competition.

The Gables
Bilney Hall
  • Winner of the Most Colourful Category and Overall Winner was awarded to #Overbury House in Norwich for a wreath made from rainbow-coloured shapes.
  • The Largest Wreath Category went to #The Gables in Great Yarmouth for its stunning display of ceiling wreaths.
  • Two teams were joint winners of the Best Dining Table Display Wreath. #Bedhampton nursing home’s table wreath features gingerbread people who represent the different roles of the staff in the home from the registered nurses to the ancillary team. The second joint winner was #Manorcourt Homecare (Norwich branch) for their wreath featuring various local landmarks including the #Colman’s Mustard factory and #Norwich City Football Club.
  • Picking up the Lowest Carbon Footprint category was #Bilney Hall in Dereham. The residents used recycled cardboard, paper leaves and spare Christmas decorations for their wreath.
  • Finally, the Best Personalised to Home or Branch category was awarded to #Sandown Park. Here, residents took inspiration from their Royal neighbour. The wreath includes a crown and a depiction of #Windsor Castle.

Competition organiser and Healthcare Homes head of marketing, Emily Macdonald, said: “We know our residents love a competition and they certainly rose to the occasion. Our judging team were blown away by the beautiful entries. It made it very hard to choose a winner.

“We’d like to say a massive congratulations to the winning teams and a big well done and Season’s Greetings to everyone for taking part. ”
