Uvedale Hall resident cuts the ribbon to open new school library

Uvedale Hall Resident Susan Close was guest of honour at Bosmere Community Primary School in Needham Market when she performed a ribbon cutting to officially open the new library.

The Needham Market residential home has close links with the local community including a good bond with the local primary school and many of the children are regular visitors, singing, chatting and doing craft activities with the residents.

A number of the staff at Uvedale Hall have children, or grandchildren, who attend the primary school and they were excited to see Susan at their school. These included James , aged 6, who is the son of Uvedale Hall Activity Co-ordinator Gina De Cova and is pictured here with Susan.

Home Manager Suzanne York said, “I’m so proud of the hard work my activities team have put into building a strong and meaningful relationship with our local primary school. Our residents love the visits which we have from the children.

“We were delighted when the headteacher asked for our residents to visit the school and for one of them to do the ribbon cutting. Susan has been a resident with us for about 18 months and was thrilled to be their VIP for the day.”

Uvedale Hall in Needham Market is a care home with a real sense of community. Wellbeing is at the heart of everything at the home and residents are cared for like family. The home is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.
