Tree Planting for King Charles III

A fantastic weekend of Coronation celebrations took place at sister homes Foxgrove and Maynell House in Felixstowe, Suffolk  and a tree was planted in celebration of King Charles III.

Staff and residents dressed in red, white and blue for the tree planting and everyone got together to watch the Coronation ceremony with a royal themed buffet created by the kitchen teams.

Activity co-ordinator Wendy Jones said, “We chose a Hawthorn to plant in celebration of King Charles. It’s a native tree which will have blossom in the spring and berries in the autumn so always interesting. We wanted to plant a tree as that is what we did for the Queen’s Jubilee last year when we planted a native Rowan – they sit together in the gardens.”

There have been lots of great activities taking place throughout our homes with making crowns and bunting to decorate the homes as well as garden parties, cream teas, royal lunches and a good singalong.
