The Chase nursing home in Watford, Hertfordshire, continues its commitment to high-quality dementia care with an informative session led by two of its Dementia Champions, Pasang and Baansu, who have completed dementia champion training with HCPA. The session gave the care team useful insights into key areas of dementia support and safeguarding.

Topics covered included different types of dementia, factors that can increase risks, approaches to managing behaviours that may be challenging, and ways to provide daily support. Baansu also guided a discussion on recognising and responding to different forms of abuse and safeguarding residents.
This session gave staff an opportunity to refresh their understanding and speak about practical ways to enhance the care they provide. With an open and interactive approach, the team were able to share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another.
Home Manager Ana Ciobotaru highlighted the importance of regularly updating knowledge in dementia care. She praised Pasang and Baansu for leading such an engaging and thought-provoking session, recognising their dedication to improving support for residents.
The Chase plans to continue running these sessions, ensuring the team stays informed and confident in their approach to dementia care.
A big thank you to Pasang and Baansu for their time and effort in delivering such a valuable session. Their enthusiasm and commitment have a real impact on both the team and the residents they support.
