Puppy love at Romford Grange care home

They called it puppy love at Romford Grange when a litter of tiny Pomeranians and wrinkled Bulldogs visited for cuddles with residents and staff recently.

Home Manager Rebecca Watkins said; “Many of our residents had pets in the past and so animals are part of their life, it was amazing to see them pet and cuddle the puppies, reminiscing as they did – it certainly put a smile on my face.”

Rebecca, the owner of three Huskies herself, said that research shows pet therapy can help people overcome depression, anxiety and loneliness.

“The interaction was amazing and the staff enjoyed it as much as the residents – we are really grateful to The Bully Ranch for coming to visit us and hope they will be back really soon,” added Rebecca.
