Residents at Oaktree Care Home in Yate recently enjoyed a night of glitz and glamour at their very own prom, joined by families, friends, and staff. The event celebrated community spirit and brought a touch of magic to everyday life at the home.

Community Support Makes the Night Special
The local community played a key role in making the prom a success. Outfits were generously donated by Mind Song, hair products were provided by Hannah’s Hair Studio, and live music was performed by husband-and-wife duo It Takes Two. Families, friends, and neighbours all joined in to support the event, helping create unforgettable memories for residents.
Residents Celebrate in Style
The prom gave residents the chance to dress up, dance, and enjoy a glamorous evening together. One resident shared:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the prom. I’ve never been to one before, so it was a completely new experience for me.”

Staff and managers also felt the event was a huge success. Home Manager Rowena Gillespie said:
“At our home, we don’t just care for people, we aim to make a difference in their lives, bringing adventure and enjoyment. The prom was a perfect example of that.”
A member of staff at Oaktree Gill Hill added:
“It was wonderful to see the residents having such a great time. Seeing them laugh and dance made all the preparation worthwhile.”
