Manorcourt Homecare launches Larry’s Club for service users

Manorcourt Homecare – Norwich Branch is launching a new club for service users this month called Larry’s Club in memory of their first ever client.

A New Beginning

Branch Manager Anne-Marie Brown said, “Just because our clients are receiving care in their own homes does not mean they do not want to get out and about. Larry’s Club will provide an opportunity to meet some new friends and take part in some activity outside of the home.

“Our service users are welcome to come along on their own, with their carer or with a friend or family member and we will develop the club depending on people’s needs and interests.”

A beautiful memorial

Larry was a much loved client who started with Manorcourt Homecare in 2017 and received care for three years.

“He was a real character,” said Anne-Marie, “He didn’t have much family around him and we became his family, we had regular flowers from him at the office and he always insisted his carers ate with him rather than just preparing his food.”

“When Larry passed away it was one of his carers – Ryan – who organised his funeral and Larry had left strict instructions for Ryan to look after his four precious parrots. It seemed fitting to name our new venture after him and so Larry’s Club was created and we hope it will be a big success.”

An exciting venture

Larry’s Club will meet at the Owen Barnes Room in Breckland Road, Costessey, NR5 0RW on the last Tuesday in each month, starting on Tuesday, April 25th. The club will run from 11.30am until 14.30pm with activities, food and space to relax and chat.
