Ladymead Care Home on Moormead Road, Wroughton, has created a special Message Christmas Tree and has invited the community to decorate it with messages of hope, love and encouragement.
Administrator Maggy Jones put a message on the Wroughton Facebook page to let the community know that the tree had been placed on the grass to the right of the drive, and invited local children, adults and the elderly to pop by and help decorate the tree.
Maggy said, “Please come along and write a message of Hope, Love, Encouragement; we can laminate your message and you can hang it on the tree. It can be a message, poem or even a prayer for a loved one or a message to our residents.
“Alternatively, you could just bring a bauble or some tinsel to add to it. We thought it would be a lovely way to share some love this Christmas. As people begin to decorate the tree, I will upload pictures to show you the progress.”
Since placing the appeal on Facebook, the home has started to receive messages and decorations on the tree, and has also been delighted to receive a Christmas hamper and £130 in donations.
