Congratulations to Overbury House Administrator Hannah Barley and her colleague Jo Vandapeer, from the Lowestoft branch of Manorcourt Homecare, who took part in the Race for Life Pretty Muddy event in Norwich on Saturday and have raised almost £400 for cancer research.
The pair tackled the 5k muddy obstacle course, which includes an A-frame and a mud pit at the Norfolk Showground, despite the other half of their team – Amy Blowers and Nicki Ward – having to pull out of the event following positive Covid tests.
Hannah said, “Unfortunately Amy and Nikki tested positive for Covid the night before the event which was a real shame as we were taking part in memory of Brian, Amy’s dad, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.
“It was a great event and it is such a great feeling when you finish, not just the sight of the finish line but a real sense of accomplishment. The final obstacle that you do is a big slide that you can come down as a team which finishes the race with great team spirit” said Hannah who has tackled the course to raise funds in the past.
“We are really proud of the amount we have raised so far.”
