The Healthcare Homes Group has proudly announced the winners of its Christmas hat competition.
Staff and residents at the homes and homecare branches were challenged to create festive head pieces before sending in photos to judges.
The aim was to encourage residents, clients and staff to get as creative as possible, as part of the annual festivities.
Teams supported residents in working on their creations as part of the varied activities provisions at the homes, and incredible masterpieces were made, using all sorts of craft materials and inspiration.
Two categories were created – the small hat: made by an individual on their own or with a little help, and the group-made giant hat: maybe too big to wear, but where everyone contributed to decorating it!
Entries were judged by senior management team Helen Gidlow, Anthony Beorby and Katherine Foley. On Friday 11th December, winners were announced as follows:
Small hat
1st Place – The Manor House in North Walsham, Norfolk
2nd Place – Barking Hall in Barking, Suffolk
3rd Place – Home Meadow in Swaffham, Norfolk
Giant hat
1st Place – Beaumont Park in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire
2nd Place – Foxgrove & Maynell in Felixstowe, Suffolk and The Gables in Gorleston, Norfolk (joint winners)
3rd Place – the Norwich branch of Manorcourt Homecare
First place winners were awarded a gift of their choice up to the value £100, while second and third place winners could select a prize up to the value of £75 and £50 respectively.
Chief Operating Officer of the Healthcare Homes Group and one of the competition judges, Helen Gidlow, said: “What a delight it was to see the photos of these incredible festive creations being made right across our group.
“The creativity and inventive ideas were so impressive and I’d like to congratulate everyone who entered on making such wonderful hats. I’d also like to thank our fantastic teams at our homes for supporting our residents in this fun activity, which is just a small part of the many activities underway at this special time of the year. Well done everyone.”
