Father Gilly gives out the gifts at Blandford Grange

Father Gilly helped Santa out this festive season by giving out the gifts to residents and staff at Blandford Grange care home in Blandford Forum, Dorset.

Father Gilly – otherwise known as much-loved resident Brian Gillingham  – had great fun giving out the gift bags to everyone. Each resident had decorated their own bag in an arts and crafts activity session

Activity Co-ordinator Emilie said, “I thought it would be a great idea for one of the residents to go around delivering the presents, rather than just us activity staff, so I asked Gilly if he would like to do it and explained he will be dressed up as Father Christmas. Of course he said yes as it was an excellent opportunity to go round and socialise with everyone. We were both very warm by the end of it but seeing all of the residents faces light up as they saw him, made it all worth while.”

Blandford Grange is part of the Healthcare Homes family of 48 care homes and 11 home care branches. The company has recently been named in the Top 20 care home groups for the seventh year in a row by independent review website carehome.co.uk  Blandford Grange has a 9.1 out of 10 score on carehome.co.uk and is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.
