Bedhampton Court’s unique animal activities

Bedhampton Court, care home in Havant, and part of the Healthcare Homes Group, recently highlighted two successful initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and happiness of its residents.

Wide scope of activities

Residents had the opportunity to engage in a unique educational activity where they explored tarantula malts. Chef Kirsty, an enthusiast with a personal collection, brought in specimens for residents to examine. This hands-on experience sparked curiosity and discussion, offering residents a chance to learn about something they might not normally consider.

From dogs to spiders

Additionally, residents benefitted from regular visits by Stanley, a golden retriever from the charity ‘Pets as Therapy’. Stanley visits every two weeks, providing companionship and emotional support to the residents. These visits were part of a broader strategy to incorporate varied animal interactions, which have been shown to significantly enhance resident’s confidence and overall well-being.

These efforts reflected Bedhampton Court’s commitment to keeping residents engaged and content by offering them diverse and enriching experiences. By integrating unique educational opportunities and regular therapy animal visits, the home strived to create a dynamic and fulfilling environment for all its residents.
