Albany Residents embrace Autumn with leaf printing and Harvest Festival preparations

The residents at Albany have been eagerly preparing for the upcoming Harvest Festival this week, getting creative with autumnal arts and crafts. Today, they embraced the season by engaging in a fun leaf-printing activity, using vibrant paint to create colourful designs. This project is just one of the many ways they are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Harvest Festival, which will take place on Thursday.

The festival will be a special occasion, with food items collected by the residents set to be blessed during a service led by the Chaplain. After the service, the food will be donated to a local soup kitchen, supporting those in need within the community. To add a festive touch to the service, residents have been hard at work crafting not only painted leaves but also adorable pom-pom hedgehogs and pumpkins made from pool noodles. These creations will sit upon the altar alongside the blessed food, creating a cheerful and colourful atmosphere that promises to make the Harvest Festival a truly exciting and memorable event.

The arts and crafts activities at Albany are more than just decoration—they allow residents to socialise, build friendships, and experience a sense of fulfilment. Whether making items for themselves, their families, or the various craft fairs held throughout the year, the residents take great pride in their work. After the Harvest Festival, these artistic creations will be featured at a pre-Christmas fair, ensuring their handiwork continues spreading joy beyond the autumn season.

For the residents, these activities are a way to celebrate the changing seasons and a chance to feel connected and valued within their community. The upcoming Harvest Festival promises to be a meaningful and memorable occasion for all involved.
