Healthcare Homes is delighted to welcome new Home Manager Roxana Boldeanu to Kingsmead care home in Swindon.
Kingsmead is a traditional care home in the heart of Swindon and has a good reputation in the area for providing excellent care. Roxana is keen to make the most of the home’s town centre location and has already taken residents out to local pubs and shops with more trips planned.
Roxana was raised on a farm in Romania and then worked in a textile business with her sister. She originally wanted to work in fashion or go on to university but also wanted to travel and had the opportunity to leave Romania with her husband and young daughter in 2008.
“I started work in a care home when I came to the UK, it was hard work but I found I was a natural carer and enjoyed the work, “ said Roxana.
“I am naturally curious about people and see the best in them, whether it is my residents, relatives or my team. I enjoy getting to know people and finding out what makes them happy.”
Roxana soon progressed to senior care assistant then deputy and home manager, and has worked for the Order of St John Care Trust and an independent luxury care home in Oxfordshire. She has also managed a day care business in Oxford.
“I have an enthusiastic, committed team here at Kingsmead which I am keen to develop. I am looking forward to getting to know all the residents and relatives at the home really well and to welcoming the local community into our home as well as making the most of our town centre location and getting out and about whenever the residents want to,” added Roxana.
