Residents and staff at Bedhampton Nursing Home in Hampshire marked Remembrance Day with a two-minute silence followed by an opportunity for the residents to reflect on their memories of the war and think about family and friends who had served during these times. Candles were lit and the poem ‘In Flanders Field’ was read during this time.
One resident, Victor who is 103 years old, wore his service medals at the activity and he discussed how at the age of 20 he was called up for service. Victor shared some very poignant stories of this time with us.
Beautiful cakes were made by the Chef Manager, Chloe which were greatly enjoyed by the residents with a cup of tea after the activity.
Bedhampton Nursing Homes thanks all service people for their dedication and for their service.
