The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has taken the forefront of activities at Kingsmead these last few weeks, and what a wonderful time everyone has had – From bunting and collage making to singing, dancing and eating lots and lots of cake.
The home even made its own Royal Guard.
Kicking off the Platinum Jubilee weekend, the residents enjoyed an afternoon garden party, where singer Julie Hunt sang her heart out with some golden oldies and of course a rendition of God Save The Queen.
Residents enjoyed many different activities during the weekend, including a game of Royal bingo, quizzes, ‘shooting pheasants’ and horse racing games. The celebrations ended with a wonderful buffet lunch and music.
Activity Co-ordinator Clare Agates said, “We all had a fantastic time and the cherry on the cake of our celebrations was a letter from The Queen’s Lady in Waiting to thank the residents for sending a birthday card to The Queen.”
