Teams at three care homes in Felixstowe are delighted to have recently opened special garden-based ‘visitor pods’ that have been created to help residents maintain contact with their loved-ones during the pandemic.
The purpose-built wooden cabins are situated in the communal gardens at Mill Lane Nursing Home on Garrison Lane, Foxgrove and Maynell House care homes on High Road East.
The temporary structures provide a safe space for relatives to visit residents whilst Covid-19 continues to pose a risk across the country.
The pod at Mill Lane Nursing Home was formally opened by resident Jack who was also marking his 90th birthday. Jack was invited to ‘cut the ribbon’ on the pod and was presented with a special birthday cake to enjoy when his family came to visit.
Relatives are advised to contact the managers of the homes to schedule appointments for the visiting pod.
Mill Lane Nursing Home is based on the corner of Mill Lane and Garrison Lane and Foxgrove and Maynell House are based on High Road East in Felixstowe.
