Pam-tastic! Pam Ayres signs book for Maynell House resident

A lifelong admirer of poet and entertainer Pam Ayres has had her dream come true. Joan, 93, a resident at Maynell House care home in Felixstowe, recently received a personally signed book from Pam Ayres. In addition, the book came with a heartfelt message. This thoughtful gesture left Joan overjoyed.

Felixstowe’s Number One Pam Fan

Joan, known among staff and fellow residents as Pam’s “number one fan,” has adored Ayres’ poetry for decades. She often recites verses from memory during coffee mornings and group activities, and her enthusiasm for Pam Ayres’ work has become a cherished part of life at Maynell House.

Staff describe Joan as a source of joy, whose love of poetry inspires others to engage in reading, reciting, and storytelling.

A Personal Message from Pam Ayres

 

The signed book included a note from Pam herself:

“Dear Joan, I am so glad to know that you enjoy my poems. I don’t know if you have this memoir of mine, but I loved writing it and I hope you will enjoy it as a little gift, with love and best wishes, Pam Ayres.”
