Blandford Grange lends a hand at Dorset’s Teddy Rocks Festival

Blandford Grange Nursing Home recently played a hands-on role in supporting Dorset’s much-loved Teddy Rocks Festival, which took place from 2nd to 4th May 2025. The team joined forces with local businesses to support the community-funded catering effort, helping to keep festival volunteers and crew well-fed across the three-day event.

Teddy Rocks, which began in 2011 as a small pub gig, has grown into a nationally recognised, family-friendly music festival that raises funds for Teddy20—a Blandford-based charity supporting children and families affected by cancer. This year’s festival raised an impressive £164,233, taking the overall total raised to date to well over half a million pounds. Entirely volunteer-run, the event attracts thousands of festival-goers each spring, with every penny of profit going to the cause.

As part of its contribution, Blandford Grange not only made a financial donation to support the catering budget but also sent its Head Chef, Sharon Cork, to lend her culinary skills to the evening shift. Alongside volunteers from other organisations, Sharon helped serve up hot, home-cooked meals to the hardworking crew behind the scenes.

“Teddy Rocks is powered by volunteers and by the goodwill of many Dorset businesses,” said Sharon. “It was a privilege for us to be one part of that bigger team effort.”

This involvement reflects Blandford Grange’s ongoing commitment to supporting meaningful causes in the local community. As part of the Healthcare Homes Group, the home is proud to contribute to projects that bring people together and make a real difference.
