Tenchley Manor Residents get creative with Easter arts and crafts

Last week, residents at Tenchley Manor in Chichester enjoyed a series of Easter-themed activities that brought a lovely mix of creativity, conversation, and light-hearted fun to the home.

To start the week, residents took part in a ceramic egg-painting session. It was a relaxed and enjoyable morning, with a calm atmosphere and plenty of friendly chat as everyone got involved. Each resident painted their egg in their own style, with a variety of colours and patterns making every piece unique. The activity also sparked conversations about Easter traditions from years gone by.

Amy, a member of the team at Tenchley Manor, said: “I enjoyed seeing how each resident that painted an egg made it their own with different painting styles.” Resident Molly added: “I’ve made one for my daughter because she’ll love it.”

Later in the week, residents gathered around the craft table once again—this time to make their own Easter bonnets. The table was covered in feathers, fabric flowers, ribbons, and tiny decorative chicks. As the activity got underway, the room quickly filled with conversation and laughter. Each bonnet turned out differently, reflecting the residents’ individual tastes and personalities.

“It was lovely to see so many smiles and shared laughter as everyone got involved,” said Amy. Resident Rose said: “I haven’t made an Easter bonnet in years!”

These creative sessions are just one example of how activities at Tenchley Manor continue to bring people together and support wellbeing through meaningful, engaging experiences.
