Bedhampton Court Care Home in Havant recently hosted a lively 1950s-themed day to celebrate Comic Relief. The event brought together residents, staff, and the local community for an afternoon of fun and laughter.
The day kicked off with a traditional cherry cake-making session, where residents took part in baking and enjoyed the process of creating something delicious together, and a touch of Red Nose Day fun, of course. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as everyone prepared for the afternoon’s entertainment.
In the afternoon, the festivities truly came to life with a special performance from Dawn Retro Dos, who brought along talented jive dancers to entertain the attendees. Residents were up on their feet, dancing, clapping, and singing along to the upbeat tunes of the 1950s. The energy and joy in the room were infectious, as everyone joined in the celebration.
Dawn’s involvement was truly appreciated by the residents and staff. “Dawn brought residents together, and it was brilliant to see them all having the best time,” said Karen Williams, Home Manager at Bedhampton Court. Resident Martin Hedges shared his excitement, saying, “I really enjoyed Friday. I spoke about it all weekend.”
The event was a perfect way to mark Red Nose Day, offering a fun afternoon that encouraged connection and enjoyment for all involved.
