Saxlingham Hall care home residents visit to Hillside Animal Sanctuary

Saxlingham Hall, in Norwich, has long been recognised for its focus on residents’ well-being and fostering a sense of community. Recently, the home organised a delightful outing to Hillside Animal Sanctuary in West Runton, offering both residents and staff a memorable and heartwarming experience.

On the day of the visit, the weather was nothing short of perfect, with clear blue skies and sunshine, creating the ideal atmosphere for spending time outdoors. Residents were thrilled to connect with the animals at the sanctuary, taking in the sights and sounds of nature while interacting with the many rescued animals that call Hillside home. The joy and sense of wonder were palpable as everyone, young and old alike, enjoyed the therapeutic benefits of animal interaction.

The positive impact of the visit on the residents was immediate. Many were filled with happiness as they had the chance to experience the peace and tranquility of the sanctuary. Whether petting the animals, watching them interact with each other, or simply soaking in the beauty of the surroundings, the visit was a reminder of the powerful effect that spending time with animals can have on well-being.

In an exciting development for both residents and staff, Saxlingham Hall has officially adopted five animals from Hillside Animal Sanctuary. The residents are eager to follow their new animal friends’ progress and will receive updates in the coming months, allowing them to feel a continued connection with the sanctuary.

Jo Tate, Activities Coordinator at Saxlingham Hall, shared her excitement about the trip: “We are so grateful for the opportunity to visit Hillside Animal Sanctuary and for the unwavering support from the team. The bond between our residents and the animals they interact with is truly magical, and it was a joy to witness.”

The outing was made possible thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Saxlingham Hall team, who continuously strive to provide enriching experiences for residents both within the care home and in the wider community. The team’s commitment to delivering fun, engaging, and meaningful activities ensures that residents are always given the opportunity to create lasting memories.

Looking ahead, Saxlingham Hall is already planning more community outings for the coming months. The home’s staff and residents are excited to explore new local attractions, creating opportunities for social engagement and providing a variety of enriching experiences. These outings are a perfect way to add excitement to daily life and provide residents with opportunities to connect with the world around them.
