Cedar Court care home recently celebrated Relaxation Day in a delightful way, extending the festivities over two days. The in-house salon was transformed into a serene oasis, beautifully decorated with twinkling fairy lights, thanks to the efforts of the activities team members, Ashley and Gemma.

Residents were treated to a luxurious pampering experience, complete with Prosecco to sip as they chose from a variety of relaxing treatments. Options included nail trimming and filing, nail varnish application, hand massages—particularly popular among residents—and gentle hair brushing. To enhance the calming atmosphere, tranquil music played softly in the background, soothing everyone’s minds as they indulged in their chosen treatments.
Many residents found the experience so relaxing that some closed their eyes and enjoyed the moment until the pampering session was complete. Conversations flowed as residents shared how relaxed they felt, while others enjoyed watching the various activities unfold around them.
Nurse Francis commented with enthusiasm, “What time can I make an appointment? It looks like everyone is having such a wonderful time!” He added, “I absolutely loved doing this for the residents. Seeing them completely relaxed after their session makes my day. It’s a joy to spoil them.”
Residents also expressed their delight, with Josephine smiling and saying, “I feel wonderful. This is just what I needed.” Sam chimed in, “I’ve never had anything like this before, and I must say, it’s simply lovely!”
The two-day event was a resounding success, leaving residents feeling rejuvenated and cared for.
