It was eyes down for a full house as Ipswich MP Tom Hunt visited Handford House care home today and spent time with residents playing bingo to mark Care Home Open Week.
During his visit Tom, who has been Conservative MP for the area since 2019, chatted with members of the care team and residents at the home in Cumberland Street, Ipswich.
He said, “I’m really impressed with everything here at Handford House and can see how happy the residents are. It is my first visit to the home since I was elected and I want to thank the care team for all the care and support they are giving to my constituents who live here.
“The beautiful hand-painted memory tree is particularly poignant as is the way the residents are all treated just like members of the family.”
Fisayo said, “At Handford House we enjoy being part of the wider Ipswich community and visitors are always welcome to come along and see the home and talk to the team here. We were delighted to welcome Tom during Care Home Open Week and pleased to show him our indoor and outdoor space which is very important to the residents as a place to reflect, relax in and enjoy all the benefits of being outside in the sunshine.”
Care Home Open Week aims to encourage the local community to visit a care home, meet the team and see the great activities which are offered to residents as well as the diverse career opportunities in care which are available.
